Sub for santa

Our Young women and young men get the chance to give this cute family a christmas this year. This family is in need of so much! We will be collecting donations from ward members and then wrapping them on December 3rd. We then get the opportunity to all deliver these gifts straight to the family closer to Christmas time. It will be such a neat experience! Remember girls, try and earn some money to be able to purchase something for the family, even if it's small, it will make all the difference in the world for this family!

Personal Progress Low-Down

Here's an explanation of what we're doing for Personal Progress...

1. Please start bringing your personal progress book to the last mutual of every month. For the first 15 minutes of this mutual we'll spend some time with each of you going over your progress. This also includes you special few who have already achieved your recognition award because you still have the chance to earn the incentives!

2. $$ Personal Progress Bucks $$ -
  • The $1 bills are our way of letting you know that we really appreciate the little things you do! You will be awarded these when we notice your random acts of kindness and goodness. (Examples: being on time to class, setting a good example, giving a kind compliment, being positive in a difficult situation, showing compassion, etc.)
  • The $5 bills are awarded every time you accomplish a value experience.
  • The $10 bills are awarded every time you accomplish a value project, although we may bump that up to $20.... ;)

3. Personal Progress AUCTION! ...going once...going twice...sold! Every 3 months we're going to have an auction for you to spend your personal progress bucks, so work hard and keep that money safe!

4. Personal Progress Party - We will start holding these once every 4 months. At these parties you'll get the extra special treatment you deserve for all your hard work (like good food, hand massages or facials, a movie, etc.)! You must set goals with your parents/leaders and then complete them before the date of the party. When setting your goals, remember you must complete a minimum of 1 experience per month or 5 hours total of a value project in order to qualify for the party.

We hope that you'll be able to view Personal Progress, not as a chore, but as a great opportunity for fun, learning, and growth. We challenge you to set goals and accomplish them and see for yourselves the blessings that come from being a part of this program. And don't forget, we've got a lot fun incentives to reward you all along the way! Love, Your YW Leaders :)

Personal Progress Par-tay

We asked the girls to set some personal progress goals that were to be completed within a two month span. Whoever completed their goals on time got awarded with a special pampering party. We held our first personal progress party in August and Reta, Chanel, and Sara were all able to make it! After a nice ladies lunch we headed downstairs where Sister Rex showed the leaders how to give the girls full-on facials. We used homemade remedies: avacado scrubs and honey masks. While the leaders gave facials the girls got to relax, enjoy treats, and watch Ratatouille on the big screen. We love pampering our girls!!

Our next Personal Progress Party will be on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6th at 9am, We're going to make you breakfast and give hand massages/manicures, so set those goals and get them done so you can qualify for the party!

I Love to See the Temple

We had the chance to do temple baptisms in September at the Mount Timpanogos Temple. It was such a wonderful trip. This was my first time attending as a leader and it was a great experience to watch our beautiful girls participate in such an amazing work. Afterwards we enjoyed mingling outside the temple while snacking on lemon cookies and juice. We hope to return again in November so let's all get those temple names ready!

Mall Madness!

Back in June, the MiaMaids planned an awesome photo scavanger hunt for the Young Men and Young Women. We had a great time hustling around the mall asking random people to take pictures with us! If you have more photos from this mutual, please post them! -Sister Jones

...And here's a pic of Brother Russell and Brother Bertolla slacking on the job... ;) haha!
