Update #2 on Sister Upp!

We're happy to announce that the Upp's were able to bring their little guy back home from the hospital!! Marshall is now 2 months old and his heart has been doing well on his new medication. Sister Upp is recovering just fine and is very excited to have her family all together under one roof again. Since Marshall is still so young they'll need to keep him at home so he doesn't catch any illnesses, but Sister Upp will start coming back to YW's on Sundays and Wednesdays when she is able. Here are some pictures of the happy fam. Isn't he SO ADORABLE?? I LOVE his chubbiness!!

Sister Upp, we're so happy for you and are so excited to hear that Marshall is doing well. We've missed you and look forward to enjoying your company again!!!

Time Capsules

The Beehives made time capsules last Wednesday for our class activity! We filled out a paper on what our favorite things were right now, what we absolutely were going to do before January 14th, 2014, and lots of other things. They wrote on the front, "Do not open until January 14th, 2014" They will all be Laurels by then! We took pics so we could remember exactly what we looked like on that day. Imagine how much they will change in 5 years!

You've Been Challenged!!

Guess what?? We've been issued an official challenge from the General Young Women's Presidency! They're calling on all young women and yw leaders everywhere to accept the invitation to do three things everyday:

1. Pray in the morning and at night.

2. Read the Book of Mormon for at least 5 minutes.

3. Smile!

Here's the link if you want to read the official invitation: http://tinyurl.com/8gy8fo . So what do say?? I'm going to do it. Will you? And here's an extra incentive just for fun: if you can honestly tell one of us leaders that you have held true to this challenge everyday for a whole week, we will give you an extra $10 in pp bucks! (Auction is coming up soon so better build up your savings!)

YW Christmas Party

Our last mutual before Christmas was a YW Christmas Party. We had lots of treats, a hot chocolate bar where everyone could experiment with different concoctions (like hot cocoa + white chocolate + crushed peppermint + french vanilla whip cream, etc), a white elephant gift exchange, and some games to keep us entertained. We missed all the girls and leaders who couldn't make it, but those of us who were there enjoyed a night full of laughter! One of my favorite moments was when Emily opened her white elephant gift - it was a handwritten coupon from Sara that said "Good for one date with Brayden Smith when he turns 16." Hilarious! We're holding him to it as soon as Emily turns 16 in a few years!!! :) Love you girls! Thanks for the fun!

One for the Boys

I think I speak for everyone when I say that the Young Men in our ward are awesome. We love the way they make us laugh and the way they treat our girls right. A few weeks ago they had a missionary activity and came to mutual all dressed up in their suits. Even though we see them dressed up every Sunday, for some reason seeing them on a weekday dressed in their suits made them look extra sharp. Keep up the good work boys! You'll make excellent missionaries!

Don't hide that handsome haircut Chris!

Ready to roll...

Ice Cream, You Scream!

Here's Chanel and Reta enjoying a ginormous ice cream sundae from Thanksgiving Point after one of our mutuals. Thanks to Reta's phone, we were able to capture the delicious moment!
Cute picture girls!!

Update on Sister Upp!

I talked with Kevin Upp this morning, and he said they were pretty sure they would get to bring little Marshall home today!!! They have been at Primary Childrens hospital since before Christmas trying to get his heart beating regularly again. It has been a rough couple of weeks for them, but he said that Marshall has been a trooper and he is doing a lot better. So continue to keep them in your prayers. We love the Upps!!
What a little cutie!!
