Family Home Evening

This year for New Beginnings we ran the evening like a Family Home Evening. We moved the furniture from the foyer into the Relief Society room to make it a little more cozy and living-room-ish. We ran our program like FHE - song, prayer, scripture, lesson, activity, family business, treat, etc. We got a lot of information out and had a lot of fun. Thanks to all the young women who helped out tonight with assignments and A BIG THANKS to everyone (leaders, parents, and young women) for participating and making this evening a success! We're so thankful that the Young Women in our ward have such wonderful support. P.S. We missed all of you that couldn't make it! Here are some pictures from tonight:

Our "newest" Beehive! Even though Katelyn has been with us since last year, we were able to "officially" welcome her in tonight. Devan spotlighted her and she received her new YW Logo Pendant and some balloons that read "It's a Girl!" (Because she is a like the new baby in the family.)

Jane was our chorister for the evening. :)

FHE Activity - Do You Love Your Neighbor?

Look at Sister Hill making that sharp turn! And go, Jordan, go! That's right folks, she's running track this year!

Loving the Love

Today's Valentine's Day wasn't just about the flutterby feelings for a special boy or the anticipation of a secret admirer. Oh no. Today's Valentine's Day proved to be so much more.

A couple of days ago at our YW game night the young women cut out hearts and valentines for Makelle and Taisha Barton (two of our newest young women!), stuck them all over the their home, rang the doorbell, and ran like the wind! Today at church Makelle and Taisha surprised the young women back by presenting them with this massive personalized Valentine card and individual treat bags!

In addition to this, Emily Overby made homemade chocolate bowls filled with chocolately goodness for everyone, Sister Hill gave everyone a treat filled bag, the leaders got chocolate roses, Sister Neff made cupcakes, and Sister Syal made heart sugar cookies. (Wish I had a picture of every gift!) The treats were all amazingly delicious, but what was even more amazing was the thoughtfulness and love that everyone shared through the treats. And to top it all off, Sister Neff gave a wonderful lesson on truly loving our family and friends and showing that true love through our actions.

Yes, the 3rd hour of church in young women's today was bursting with love. Thank you, girls, for showing us what it really means to give and receive love.
