5 Components of what? Oh, FITNESS.

Last night we had a combined YM/YW mutual where Brother Russell taught us all the important elements that make up fitness. We are trying hard to get physically prepared for Trek in July because the better physically prepared we are, the stronger spiritual experience and more fun we'll have while there!! Brother Russel gave us each fitness journals and encouraged us to set goals so we can see our own progress between now and July. To start us off with a beginning mark, we did the sit 'n' reach and push-ups and then recorded our score. I'm sure all the leaders had flashbacks of PE.

Prepping for the Sit & Reach:

Come on Grayson! You can do it!

What would a YM mutual be without a little friendly competition?? The Deal: If the ym combined can do more pushups than Bro. Russell and Bro. Bertolla combined, the ym leaders buy the ym JCW's! Rules: Chest must touch the hymnbooks and no breaks. The ym did an intimidating total of 186 pushups! Can the ym leaders beat that??
Chris decided to put his hand down to make sure Bro. Bertolla was really touching the books, just to be safe. The ym want those burgers!! The pressure is on!

Results: Even though the ym leaders did an impressive 146 total pushups, that wasn't enough to beat the ym's score. Victory never tasted better! What a fun, motivating, and educational evening. Thanks Bro. Russell for teaching us the ways of the Ironman. And thanks to the YM for the entertainment!! (By the way, this was yet another affirmation that young men and young women are completely different creatures by nature. Haha.) Alright everyone, let's get crackin'! 20% progress by July!

Bowling????

The Laurels and Miamaids got dressed up in formal attire and headed off to Jack and Jill's for some very eventful bowling. However when we arrived is was very crowded and the man behind the desk said that we would have quite a wait which would not get us done until after nine. We started gleaming our minds for ideas that we could do when the suggestion came up, why not bottomless chips and salsa with a side of chocolate molten cake at Chili's. It was a unanimous vote and so off we went. As we chatted and ate. Sister Jones decided to put the girls to a test to see if they would eat anything. Reta was the only volunteer. I think the pictures do the talking for the rest of the story.

You gals asked for it.

So here is my big winged hair picture from HS.

Church BB

Jordan faithfully went to church BB on sats. She can really shoot those hoops. Way to go Jordan.
